NEVER GET MUCH USE OUT OF A CHAIR (2024)

The MAC, Belfast part of ‘mother tongue’ group exhibition in 2024

Sculpture of found objects, large format digital print, textiles, plaster and nylon

Never getting much use out of a chair, is a collection of found and made objects exploring motifs and qualities inherent to the Northern working class mum. This amalgam of migration, settlement and survival against political systems of oppression redress a typical gender ideology to create this landscape of matriarchal power.
